Dog Age Calculator

Enter your dog's age to estimate their age in human years.

Why "multiply by 7" isn't accurate

Dogs mature much faster than humans in their first couple of years, then age more slowly afterward — a flat "1 dog year = 7 human years" doesn't reflect that curve. This calculator instead uses a logarithmic approximation that better matches how dogs actually age: fast early maturity, slowing down over time.

Keep in mind this is still a general approximation — a dog's breed, size, and individual health all affect their actual aging rate. Larger breeds tend to age faster in their senior years than smaller breeds. For anything specific to your dog's health, a vet is always the better source.
